American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD)

Entire Group

The American Association of Women Dentists was formed by a group of female dentists in 1921 so they could “share their common interests and enjoy friendships and camaraderie. Today, AAWD is the leading resource for advancing, connecting, and enriching the lives of women dentists.”

Mission Statement:

We are PRISMATIC- guided by these core values:

From left to right: Monica Freifeld, Katelyn Radner, Lauren Arguelles, and Mina Ghorbani

As a member of the UF AAWD student chapter, you will have access to numerous events including initiation and senior send off socials at faculty members’ homes, dinners with local female dentists, associate-ship advice and connections through Patterson Dental, milestone celebrations, socials, fundraisers, and lunch & learns throughout the school year as well as access to volunteering at our very own community service event – The Girl Scout Dental Health Badge Program for local brownie and daisy girl scouts. We pride ourselves in connecting the female dental students at the University of Florida in a relaxed and fun atmosphere that everyone enjoys.
